You are 100% correct. You would have thought that the series of protest failures coming after Occupy Wall Street would have caused the population to be inquisitive, more educated, and then demand more justice. Nobody reviews past mistakes to strategize-they are in it for temporary relief and not long-term solutions. Malcolm X said: “Of all our studies, history is best qualified to reward our research. And when you see that you've got problems, all you have to do is examine the historic method used all over the world by others who have problems similar to yours. And once you see how they got theirs straight, then you know how you can get yours straight.”

The "protests" that Indivisible organizes feel more like street fairs than protests. Look at the protests that Jewish Voice for Peace have organized (against the genocide the US has funded and armed) especially in NYC. These are actions that often result in arrest. Yes, there is a difference. Indivisible has no teeth, partly because they are a mouthpiece of the Democratic Party.

Your analysis is spot on. I’ve heard talk of a national (general) strike, but frankly, I think that’s far too ambitious. What is needed instead is open economic warfare by all Blue States against one or more of the Red States. By that, I mean a total boycott of the products and services originating there, and so that the public notices, protests at and even blockades of that state’s major tourist attractions. Imagine, for example, cars that “stall” simultaneously in large numbers on the roads leading into Branson, MO. You get the idea. Once one Red States can be made to bleed red ink (forgive the play on words), the boycott will be taken seriously.

I definitely agree blue states can and need to do more. They need to take a much more aggressive approach and stop allowing Trump to have his way.

A good start would be for IL State Police or the Chicago PD to begin arresting ICE agents who fire chemical weapons at protestors who pose no threat to them. A good place to begin this process would be to ID the agent who fired a pepper ball at the head of a priest guilty only of praying.

Totally! These cold-hearted evil bastards of this regime will only respond to constant challenge and confrontation.

But it proved that there were no wars going on. Given the threat, it was successful in that.

You have to start somewhere. If these organizers led with “come out and get arrested with us” I doubt 1000 people would show up. Everyone is on their journey, allow them to have it. While this event might not obtain anything tangible without it, there is nothing to build on. Stop criticizing different attempts to raise awareness unless you wanna be out there with 100 of your closest friends leading the only just fight in your mind.

You are correct Mr. Tisdale. These are the motions for the US to discover it has fight left. That is valuable.

What comes of it is unknown or how it organizes. But it will. It forces the local police and military to acknowledge these people in the streets are people I know. It forces them to choose, to side with the regime or against it. That is valuable too.

Give it due time, that anger will not dissipate. Only build as the shutdown extends, healthcare premiums increase, hospitals close. That anger will be channeled.

You have that theory and drew that conclusion after reading this article and with knowledge and awareness of how these have failed consistently over the years (you said so at the beginning of your own comment)?

Yes. The protests are a means to an end. That energy will be shaped. Mr. Tisdale is ahead of the general population. The US is grieving the country it believed it was and facing reality.
